This is not part of series of sharing the experience using W600i mini coffee roaster machine. I write this post because of mistake I made in roasting natural bean for a medium dark roast. I used to roast light in a small batch, around 350gr on 1kg roaster.
I got the medium roasted bean became oily just in one day after roasted. The next day I did a light roast for the same bean, and it resulted almost he same. The light roasted bean became oily after two days. So I asked myself what was wrong? Luckily I had opportunity to ask a profesional roaster whose currently working with Giesen 6kg roaster machine. The answer is charge temp. I opened my computer to look at my first light roast which was not oily, and the last time I roast light of the natural bean that became oily. And the difference is the charge temperature. 150°C compares to 170°C.
Lesson learnt. To increase level of roast does not mean increasing charge temperature in this W600i mini coffee roaster machine.
